Billboards illegally published to be removed as per Supreme Court’s order.
Supreme Court in action against all the odds in Pakistan, many great decisions have been made.
Recently SC ordered PHA (Parks and Horticulture Authority) to remove all the billboards which are not registered or illegally placed on roads, parks, buildings, pedestrian bridges etc.
PHA has received 45 days notice from SC, this action needs to be completed in 45 days.
The decision was made by CJP Mr Saqib Nisar when he visited Cantonment lahore, DHA and railways.
The decision has taken place under the article 25 which applies to all cities in Pakistan including major cities Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
CJP shared his remarks that billborads should only be placed on private property.
All the people who are doing illegal marketing and making Pakistan ugly place needs to be active and register their billboards as per law else they may face closure or loose licence to operate.
This decision will of course leave remarkable impact on the society including;
- Better ads
- Original things
- No fake businesses.
Although this could be unpleasant news for businesses that this decision has increased the prices of outdoor marketing. From 5000 billboards, 67% has been removed on order of SC in Karachi.
